I also have had the range of Triumphs mentioned previously with no issue whatsoever.
I have just completed the Edinburgh marathon and found a black left middle toe & the right middle is still slightly numb...................never had these issues before in 5 yrs of distance running & I don't have longer mid toes...........has there been a design change in the shoe ??????
What an absolute shame, the Bluebell on the Sunday is an absolute cracker of a race and The Sowerby Scorcher looks to have similar potential.
As I live directly across the road from You, Lesley.........yes it's Chris. I hope you still get a good entry and the race is a success.
Before planning next years race it may be prudent to look on the John Schofield website to see who else has races on the same weekend, also check Halifax Harriers & Stainland Lions ( who organise the Bluebel 10)
I'm sure there will still be a few "tuffies" who will want to do both. I might myself yet.
Try to set yourself some reasonable & achievable goals, gradually build up the distances but add other sessions too, interval training is always a good option.Have you a local running club that you could train with ?? Lots of people are currently training for London.....we have an advantage of an additional month....training with others helps keep motivated.....you won't to let them down by missing a session...I'm currently struggling to get my weight where I want it to be & suffering a few niggling injuries , possibly as a consequence.
I'd really love to go sub 4 hrs but in reality just completing is target no.1, have you entered any other races between now & May ?? I've planned a Half next month, a 10k in March & a 10mile on & off road at the beginning of May to keep things interesting & a break from countless miles on the road...........anyway Happy Training xxx
Off home to bed shortly, maybe via the gym for half an hour on the dreadmill and a quick swim. Can't face the road after nights but at least it keeps me doing something.Do you get many of us foreigners from south of the border descending on your beautiful country for this race ?? We're off to Scotand at easter too, Galloway coast......and the nearest pub ( qtr of a mile) is exactly 13 miles from Stranraer, maybe I'll get the wife to drop me there a couple of times to keep some distance in the legs. ( Stranraer that is !!)
Anyway hope all you "normal" people have a good Sunday morning run...if the weather's cleared up.....adios.
They're not hills .....just minor obstacles !!! Anyway never mind running up'em just think of the Quad damage you'll do running down them......I did this one last year for the 1st time , not one for a PB as such but a great achievement, a cheeky little drag up to the finish straight but if you have anything left you can also gain a few moreplaces over the last 100mts if you can raise a sprint that is !!!!!!!
Just raced a 10 k at the weekend and this will be race 2 in prep for the Edinburgh full marathon at the end of May..............another victim of the NO letter campaign from the FLM...........I wonder how many that get London places fail to start ???????? or how many celebs fail to take it seriously.......stuff 'em I'd rather go to Scotland for the weekend........happy training.
