Yet another superbly organised Marlow half Marathon on a beautiful day. Thanks once again to the Marlow Striders.
I would just to add my tu'ppence into the "how hard are the hills" debate. Having done the Marlow half quite a few times now I think what makes the 8 mile hill such a challenge is what comes before. The 4 mile climb from Marlow up to Parmoor (the highest point on the course), and the jarring steep down hill into the Hambleden valley are very effective at taking all the freshness out of your legs. Then, grateful for a bit of flat, you peg it for a couple of miles along the valley only to be confronted by the Rotten Row climb. Ouch!
I think that I may be getting a bit obsessive about this.
