Press release (unconnected) from Vlm post race said 13th right at the end. It definitely won't be 20th as Easter Sunday. Already booked leave.

Steve- that sub 3 negative split was done by a champs runner who has gone through he fairly slowly. Suggests training run to me. Marders did an 80/70 split last year.

Can't remember who asked about a flat half aug/sept near Oxford. Chippenham is a clear pb course with one small climb at 12. Very fast course

Stonking runs from lots of people and good to finally meet the legend that is Dids in the pub. Nice to see PhilPub

2.53.50 for me with a 25 second negative split (Probably my best executed race at mara distance). Made up with this as I was looking at 2.58 at the start as I'd only done about half the training. Can't beat Coro on return from investment though!

Missed Wardi at the start, and FGFA is looking a little thin these days as CRAB said earlier.

Highlights of the day running with mates pretty much all the way, Winning the DanA sweepstake, and medal already posted- Result.

Great to meet CW at the bar who looked like the Cheshire cat. Really pleased for you.

Glad to see SD ok.

Ally- That is a great post from Bike it and pretty much details what you need to know.

FWIW I would say don't get too hung up on time. Let it take care of itself first time out. You were in 2.53 shape so clearly have the leg speed but training hasn't been optimum since then.

On the last up, I was probably in better mara shape than you and obsessed over various times and splits and took it far too seriously, which is my way. Although illness played a small part, I was done by hw and wish someone had just said ffs- just relax and run the course how you feel. I'd done many b2b 50m weekends and followed the silver schedule to the letter.

Contrast that with last year where I was glad to be there, let the pace drift to 9mm on the hills and went through hw outside silver. I then felt good and came back a bit quicker and lucky enough to sneak inside 7h30. I ignored hill reps and did a lot of runs on the treddie at various inclines as this is more representative of the course. Longest run also a marathon and no more.

You are obviously a decent runner, so enjoy the day and soak it all in. If 8mm feels right, then it should be right. Just save a bit for the hills at the end

Looking forward to following the gang online. Didn't win KLM...
