HI To drag you all back to the original idea of Dubai Dave: a part of the forum where events / clubs / and general running abroad could be discussed, this is a fantastic idea I and about 50% of the company I work for travel all over the world and would find it invaluable to know about foreign clubs and runs we can join or use while in these countries, it should be given some thought by runners world. Until then try www.runtheplanet.com it gives advice on routes abroad and contacts its fairly good, but we should be doing the same here but better.
Roads are great, but with dark winter nights, poor road surfaces, waiting to cross roads, dog dirt and people walking or talking that would rather see you run through mud and puddles than make a little space for you to pass, I personally think tread mills have a useful place in any winter training program.
