Hi Dr. Rob - due to a recent injury (sustained near Westcott!), unlikely to make the full distance. Is it possible to set off as a 'lagard' - ie with the intention of only doing the half marathon distance? Please advise

Have done this one twice, and plan to do again. Well organised and encouraging smiley marshalls. Nothing too strenuous and the T-shirt's good.

DTs - good news! Sounds promising! Key thing is probably to make treating her as much of a habit as training. Concert tickets probably a bit of a pricey habit, but flowers sounds good, or maybe if you have 'a list' of jobs to do in the house you could do one or two here and there without her having to ask a second time. Stabbing a bit in the dark here, but maybe even 'noticing' things yourself that need doing and telling her when you've done them. Not major stuff like a new kitchen, but changing a light bulb, putting a picture up....just keep showing her you care, and she will keep thinking you're wonderful and let you go running!

DTs - If someone's already said this, ignore it (haven't quite read all 133 replies yet!). Does your other half have some interest of her own? Any interest...shopping, eating out, cinema, etc? If so, what if you treat her to stuff in line with her interest? Like....if she likes chick-flicks - get tickets, and surprise her with them?
