Mr Ben wrote (see)

My first and last marathon this year eh.

Maybe just one more next year to prove I can do 4hr 30min....or is it the wine talking.

I had a 'first and last' marathon in 2005.

Couldn't run a mile when I entered but after training , hobbled round the Cardiff Marathon in 5.37.

One year later and I finished the same marathon in 4.31.

I've now done 11 (including three Snowdonias) with a PB of 4.17 .

Damn addictive this marathon running

The cut-off rule was in place last year but definitely not enforced.

It couldn't possibly have been with some of the slower times.

Possibly something they have to say to satisfy an insurance company or similar (own risk after that point etc etc) ??

Nicely paced 7.5 miles last night . . . Starting to feel that strength that comes from those long weekend runs.

Oh and it was cold and raining . . . Now I know Snowdonia is just around the corner

Looking forward to the grub at 'Petes Eats' already.

I'm sure that's the only reason I run this event . . . . .

Morning All

Just  thought I'd join the thread . . . . Third 'Snowdonia' for myself and aiming for 4.45.

Run a few marathons but more of a plodder than a 'speed merchant' . . . . It's the challenge that attracts me and hence why this is my favourite race.

Steady 15 miler this morning , felt good and looking forward to the big day . . . Just those pesky 20 milers to undertake over the next fortnight.

This time last year I was in fine form until I suffered ankle ligament damage around 8 weeks before the event . . . It looked all over but daily swimming /cross training kept my fitness up and (although it was a struggle) , I managed to get myself fit for the race.

Hoping no disasters this year  !!

Anybody want to swap a 'half place' (in my possession) for a 'full place' (needed) ??
