Thanks for the run this morning. Hills, mud and getting lost. it made a pleasant change from the Mersey.
Anyway, as no one reads this thread anyway so I thought I would confirm the rumours that I discovered had been circulating since I appeared at the London Marathon looking, er, slightly different (apparently).
So yes, I am transgender and am in the process of transitioning. I will be presenting full time as a woman in about 4/5 weeks. Although I don't mind discussing it, it just saves explaining the situation when I meet people and they wonder what is going on.
I won't pretend it has been an easy journey and it remains challenging for my family and I as you may appreciate. There are still many situations to overcome, but since there has been some speculation I thought I should say something. Particularly as I am intending to get more involved in my running again as I miss competing and the social aspects of it.
I have been touched and hugely appreciative of the positive reaction I have received from those I have told so far. It means a lot to me.
"re-emerging from obscurity" Now that does remind me of the end of the HP40.
It was the last checkpoint, someone had messed with the arrow and I ended up on the A6 in heavy traffic. It was horrible!
I also went wrong on the final road section of the BGR adding couple of extremely unwelocome miles to that as well!
Poacher - it was touchy feely, I respond better to the carrot.
ES - wow, Incredible stuff. That is a fantastic performance. Did you have a quad bike stashed somewhere in Macc forest?
I got lost on the hp40, so I am not the "go to" person. Shame you can't defend your trophy.
