SARQ - Not according to the results I have seen. Not quite anyway! If it is like the National road relay the course is under 5k, even shorter this year, and if we all run to form we will be close to the top 3, certainly top ten. I enjoyed the National as a sharpener before London and feel this will be a sharpener before the summer race series.
Aside from that it is a good day out.
We will need to run fast though cos I need to gEt back for the cup final!
best of luck and have a great race to all the Boston Runners, should be some event.
BB fingers x'ed for you and thanks for sorting the relays out
ES - I agree with some of what JMC squared says, although I am not so sure xc is the panacea. Some people just don't thrive on it and it takes up most of the day, OK if your kids do it blah, blah. I agree it is great fun and great training obviously but few well chosen races will help you gauge where you are at. he is definitely correct about it being a shame wasting all the training.
I am excited about the vet relays, it will be fantastic running it with SARQ ES and M on the same team, hopefully that will help us bring out the best in each other!
Need to start the 5 k training now, legs were really sore and got a really bad foot after the Mara but managed to hobble up snowdon yesterday with the family and feel a bit better.
SARQ, BHB how about sorting out some of those tempo efforts out!
Poacher - sounds like something from breaking bad!
RB - yes you were a bit anti social, obviously worried I was going to overtake you in the baggage reclaim area! Mind you I just checked and you are rubbish over 5 k after all. I would have sailed past you in the last 5 if I had run the previous 37 a bit faster! BTW I don't think running over hills is a the reason that 26.2 miles of Tarmac hurts! Recover well!
GBM - your pacers experience sounds like Franz Kafka writing a novel about the marathon.
