Steve, we also made a weekend of it, staying also at the Castle Hotel, originally planning to stay only on Sunday night but made a last minute change and stayed over on Saturday which in the end was the right choice. I surprised myself by knocking a staggering 8mins off my half marathon pb only set 4 weeks ago at the Bupa Great Birmingham Run. The hill is a bit of a shocker, but I think the worse part of it was running through sand. Unfortunatly no biscuits when I finished, but the Fisherman's Chip shop was well worth the visit. |

Good news- we are delighted to announce that a new team has come forward to co-ordinate the Brueton parkrun. Brueton parkrun is now a permanent fixture on the race calendar. Our first event is this Saturday 28th August, so please come and join us for a 9 am race start. http://www.parkrun.org.uk/brueton/ |

Having run the first 3 races at Brueton Park I did my bit and volunteered my services for this week. Looking out the window this morning i did wonder if I had done the right thing but it all turned out well. If Brueton Park is to survive runners do need to accept that once in a while they will need to support the event by volunteering or as I did this week draft in family and friends to help. Lets Hope Brueton goes from strength to strengh. |
