Hi

Good to know I am not the only one suffering from this!

I not been able to run since early July. Been to the physio and podiatrist. I am a severe overpronator which undoubtedly caused the problem. Physio has given me stretches and strengthening exercises, ultrasound and transverse friction massage (ouch!). I think it might be settling down a bit but is still v.sore in the morning prior to stretching. Frightened to start running again! Will this ever get better?

It looks like I am not going to make it on sunday.

Got a sore throat on tuesday night - went to the docs and it looks like it is a virus so haven't  been feeling right either. I've ran two marathons before so it is not the end of the world. I don't think it is worth trying and then making myself really ill. Good luck all!

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I was worried about the weather but today I have more serious problems - developed a sore throat after my 5 mile run last night ! How cruel would that be? - I've ran all through the winter without incident and become ill 4 days before the race!  Hoping it will not develop into anything and clear up by sunday - fingers crossed! Any miracle cure suggestions?

Thanks  b7 and Neil Mac. As long as it is flat there should be no problems.

In 2004 - running up Arthurs Seat in the first mile was particularly cruel - I tweaked my achilles and ran the rest of the race in pain and misery!  As I remember it was very hot and humid also. Just hoping to enjoy it this time and have no time targets - just want to enjoy the atmos. Have a great run everyone!
