C2C express for me too. Italian cafe opposite Marylebone station entrance should be open for coffee etc. even if nothing is open in the station itself.
Re. shoes - the canal bit can be wearing on wet feet / trail shoes but I wouldn't dream of wearing pure road shoes for the first half. Memories are starting to come back of precisely how wet this might be. On the plus side there is a pub right by the finish and they have yet to object to the fairly rank state I've been in after completing this race.
Hello All. I am also slightly at the 1600 starters, this isn't going to be a fast one. On the other hand we might actually outnumber the pedestrians in the last two miles to the extent that they do get out of our way.
I've got a slightly dodgy heel and I haven't run for ages so will be trying to treat it as an end of year, pre-beer Christmas workout.
It's my fourth year at this and I believe possum hopper may have missed one toilet opportunity - top end of the Hayling road bridge, outside the Ship(?) pub is a public toilet.
Huge thanks to all the marshalls out there in the rain.. This was one day when I think us runners got off lightly despite being soaked through and it must have been hard to keep spirits up (which you did admirably).
With food, drink and warmth I am now comfortably numb but suspect I may be paying the price tomorrow.
