See you all tomorrow. Don't get lost . I'll be on the 7:12 C2C express in the morning.
3rd time for me. Anyone who hasn't done it before please note that the finish is just a marquee by the canal so no showers or changing facilities though there is usually tea and coffee. I will probably have to resort to he conveniently close pub to warm up.
We're still due more rain after today however this race really is mixed terrain so I'm going for my usual slightly grippy hybrids (Brooks trailblade). Quite glad that the conditions will conceal my general unfitness.
Looking a bit moist this weekend. Haven't done anything since Beachy at the end of October so this may well be a nice slow poodle through the rain for me, hopefully no wind.
Sorry you can't make it Cheshercat.
SDM - my usual Boxing Day run is down to the end of the billy line and back from the opposite direction as long as the tide is out.
Possibly aiming for The Leopold for a post-race warm up.
SDM - presume you know the area despite it not being on the hills. It's not the prettiest but a nice, cheapish, friendly run down to Hayling Island and back weaving slightly through the people on the Southsea front. What else are you doing 2 days before Christmas?
Question for locals or those who know - where to go for post-race carb loading of the liquid variety?
The last 2 years we have gone to the Florence Arms (5 minutes from race finish, on way to station, ridiculously long cider menu) but I believe it has gone downhill since a change of management. Any recommendations or is the Flo still OK?
