Where do I find Lloyds comment on his race?? Noone was complaining about the marshalls!! I did look on wickstead website in advance and found it was reduced rate parking on new years day of £2. ie. nothing to do with UM negociating a 50% reduction in parking fees. How to rectify - take on board the comments people have made and address them - reissue medal with 1.1.11 engraved on it? - send out an appology |

Oh Dear I see the ranting and raving still goes on... Would be interested to know what the organisers have to say. I too saw superwoman and fairy - it cheared me up and made me continue. Thank you - shame there weren't more in fancy dress. Well done to the 5 and 10km runners who had to deal with steep hills and others overtaking. |

Unfortunately I have to agree with you all. This was the worst event I have entered. Sorry. First though thank you to the marshalls, especially the 2 at the first road junction. Shame weren;t marshalls on every road crossing! Family came to support me but no cafe facilities - this is poor on wicksteads part. But other races in the middle of nowhere have provided catering vans - tea/ coffee baccon buttys - I am sure supporters and runners would have appreciated this. Confusion over exact route - 3 x .. but park bit x 4! No signage - to the start. Where the finish point was? No time on show! No milage signs on course. No beware runners on course. BUT MOST DISAPOINTING WAS THE MEDAL - i ONLY ENTERED BECAUSE I THOUGHT THE IDEA OF A MEDAL ENGRAVED WITH 1.11.11 WAS FANTASTIC. VERY DISAPOINTED TO GET MEDAL WITH OUT THIS OR EVEN THE YEAR ON IT! Good luck with organising other events! I hope you learn from this. Thanks once again to all marshalls |

Happy Xmas everyone! Glad the snow has gone ( and my chesty / flu). Just downloaded garmin and found last run was Bedford 1/2 marathon. So apart from a 6m 2 days ago I've not been out running! Whooops! Blame SNOW and illness. Bit worried will struggle tomorrow. However I did knock 9min off PB at Bedford 1/2 . This is only my 3rd 1/2 marathon. Does anyone know if 5km and 10km racers will start at the same time and place as us? Bit concerned of mayhem, and when it comes to lapping! Will wickies be charging car park as normal? Don't drink too much everyone, but have a great New Year. |

Hi G5 Don't know what happened but missed you all? Didn't see pompoms or banners! boo hoo However it was so crowded my sat nav on my garmin watch got knocked off - well sat nav got knocked off about mile 17. Tried to switch it back on but unable to. so may be too busy looking at watch to notice you. Any pics of the supporters? My 1st marathon & loved it. Wanted to do Berlin but its already full for this year! Have signed up for ballot for next year london marathon. Any suggestions meanwhile? UNfortunately my back has gone so can't train at moment. Got lovely blood blister about mile 9 luckily didn't look at it until I got home - & poped it. Spent next day at spa recovering until evening when taught pilates & yoga. Next day aerobics, pilates & aqua - helped to get mobile again! My time was 3hrs 53 - hoped to get under 4hrs. Part pleased part annoyed as so crowded kept weaving in & out trying to push through slower runners. Got bruised arms - felt like a 24mile boxing match! Supporters were fantastic - v. loud!
