The only advantage with going off to quick is you put 'time in the bank', which i definitely needed on Sunday ! I always start to get slower after about 6 / 7 miles. Have done two other half marathons this year and ended up run walking the last 3 / 4 miles of both of them, so really pleased I managed to run all the way on Sunday.
Finished the half marathon in 2 hrs 23 min 17 sec. took 25 seconds off last years time for a PB. Only 25 seconds in a year, I must change my training plan !!
Went off a bit quick, must have been in 10k mode, first 2 miles in under 10 min. mile pace. Managed to slow myself down a bit after that but still did 10k in about 1hr 3 min. Just got slower after that and did the last 3 miles in 11:30 min mile pace.
