Up the workers - or should that be, workers, get up? A new term, a new start, where shall I go today on my first day back. Ahh, I know - Bristol. Should only take me 3 hours driving. Best get a wiggle on.
Daffers - run, run for you life, run like the wind, run like the inner gazelle that you are. Failing that, get out the door and plod for England.
Wed by tea and cake - is that a wedding planning company? or a new ITV murder mystery?
Happy new week full of unexpected stuff - like hopefully a car for Sluggie, and possibly some others amongst us - now that would be unexpected.
The weather should be returning to normal as the tent has been dried and put away for the year. We camped at Aysgarth falls Hotel which meant we had a pub in our back garden and could go and warm up when it got too cold and wet. We had wind, rain and sun, and of course it rained full on as we took the tent down - always a joy. We shared the field with a few humans and a whole load of rabbits and a couple of mice. Great area - lots to do - Wensleydale cheeses partaken of, Malham Cove climbed, Richmond castle conquered and Forbidden Corner a folly of trippy weirdness, enjoyed.
So what did I miss? Some birthdays, good running, foolish ventures, achey bits, naughty children, poor parenting, recovering pooches, trotty horses, exciting day trips???? To cover all eventualities ((((((~~~~~wooo hoo~~~~))))))
Happy Sunday - I can see a new term on the horizon - bring on the chaos
((((Chuggy)))) sounds horrific but yay for the littler C's
Yums - did I miss your birthday? Many belateds. Hope it was fun filled and sprinkled with diamonds, or glitter.
Yay too to Westie Jnr and any other runners and racers - did read back but brain on bank holiday mode.
FC2 left us on Friday. Had a phone call at 3.30 asking her to be ready for 5pm pick up. She and OH were out and about at the time - had to ring them to get them back on time. She was moved to Bristol to a small residential unit. The whole thing again was handled so awfully - social worker moaned about how difficult it had been finding her a place, then about driving to Bristol on a bank holiday Friday, then unsure about how long she might be there but they had funding for 2 weeks.
We phoned her and she seems to be OK, but as some have already said, no wonder these kids end up so mixed up.
She was only ever going to stay with us on respite. We are off camping to North Yorkshire today - hence the severe weather warning and OH coming down with the lurgy. Have packed tent, just trying to remember where we put the ark.
Yay Mini Yums, Daffer's sister and any other GCSErs that I missed.
The gerbil rampant gets my vote - obviously
Unsurprisingly I didn't win CDWM. I think it was fixed. FC2 stole the trophy. Outrageously I came 3rd. I'm hoping this means I don't have to cook again this week! I'm thinking a couple of days sulking should be about right..
All somewhat unsettling today as Social Worker came round yesterday to say they haven't found a placement yet but they want to move FC2 today. Don't tell FC2 so as not to upset her but then told her she won't need to pack until she gets a phone call today.
We may also be going to the vet. Blur of a kitten has been dribbling quite a lot. Unusual, unsavoury and un something else as 3's are always better.
Happy Friday - here's hoping today resolves a few things for a few people
Boozy cake at an al anon meeting ?? Happy anniversary
Yay to Essex parkrunners - hope you're going in fancy dress too
Guessing you'll be busy with GCSE day today Podds - do you get one really big envelope to open the day before!?
CDWM was a success, though I believe voting may be somewhat harsh from the teenage contingent . I think she's trying to rig it so she can win. I may have to sulk.
Went into her room to put clean washing on her bed. Having cleaned over the weekend it is already covered in layer of foundation powder. Looks like a crime scene that's being dusted for finger prints - really hoping it isn't.
She is due to leave on Sunday, but there are still no plans in place as to where she will be going. Welcome to the world of children's social services.
Happy GCSE results day - may the A*s be plentiful but of equal value to those given in the 1950's
