Hi Nutty, Sorry your having a rubbish time..Not much I can share that might help, but I had bad groin pain too .Saw a physio for 3 sessions - she thought it was a groin strain, but she couldn't reproduce the pain - it was squatting and weightbearing that really hurt. I rested totally for 8 weeks (even left the dog walking to someone else!)- a wee bit better, but still sore with activity and weight bearing. I started to suspect a stress fracture, but everyone i mentioned it to said it would be uncommon there.. Saw a really nice physio this week - and then an ortho surgeon, at a local football club. He is suspecting a labral tear -told me to see my gp and request an x-ray (having it tomorrow). Kind of hope it's not what he suggested because he then started to describe how they would fix it - not for the faint hearted! I still think it will be a s.f.. Is there any chance you could get an earlier x-ray? Have you tried your g.p? It is really rubbish not knowing why you can't run - but rest is the best thing if you're in pain. Hope you get some answers soon, x |

Sorry to butt into this thread, but was interested because I have a weird pain at the top of my thigh - but feels deeper like my hip? Started on a long run, but kept going and was really sore after (barely walkable on for a week). That was 4 weeks ago, and haven't run since. Fizz wondered if it was a groin strain..Doing a single legged squat hurts, but there is no pain on stretching.. Now it's just a vague ache when walking but the minute I try to hop on it, or break into a jog it's sore (that's why I was interested why you asked Savs..) |

The ladies aren't on for an hour L.S - plenty folding time! I'll spend the 30 quid...then maybe a wee bit more (to your disgust most likely - tho' they're not top of the range deluxe you'll be glad to hear!) I had a couple of lovely mates with me yesterday - definitely helps when you have doubts about the distance! |

Nice one Euph! 17.1 miles yesterday in 2hours 22 -I was scheduled for 14 too Feemers, but still had the hound to take out, so let him run for the 3 miles with me..he was acting like a loon, bouncing into everyone he could see, and just generally acting up..nice little distraction when i was getting a wee bit heavy legged tho' Little bit scared to say thats the furthest I've run in my life, but felt amazing, and was a real confidence boost too..Going shpping for new trainers after I've been paid this week..think the spring went from this pair a long time ago...Always tempted to try a new model, but I suppose the smart thing would be to stick with something that ain't broke.. |
