Thanks very much for all the replies. I think the conclusion is to cross train for the time being! Sounds silly but I hadn't actually considered not running-I was just looking for a way to try and enjoy my runs again but I suppose you can't make yourself do that. Hoping it will come with time
I will check out the pregnant runners forum too.
Thanks again, don't feel quite as bad now - felt a bit like there was something wrong with me!!
Sorry if this has been covered before - I had a quick look over the past few pages and couldn't see anything similar.
Basically I'm just over half way through 1st trimester, very early pregnancy and I am just completely exhausted. I know this is normal, but it's making me dread my runs. I was running 15-20miles a week when I found out I was pregnant and have cut back to 10-15 now, just because I'm so tired. Sometimes I struggle to run 3.5miles at a really slow pace. My legs feel so heavy and I can't catch my breath. I've decided for now to swim and cross train at the gym as the prospect of being able to stop when I'm shattered and not be miles from home is comforting...but I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if so does it go away???
Also maybe worth mentioning I have quite bad nausea and aversions to a lot of food (inlcuding pasta sadly) so my carb intake at the moment is minimal, maybe that has something to do with it.
Jeepers, thanks very much for this. What you're saying makes perfect sense - I'm trying to drink water as often as I can and have had a good, hearty breakfast. If it starts to go up again that's when I think I might get more specialist medical advice.
