Samir it would be great to see you at the Hillingdon half. I've got one of my Lads running and going by your Reading time it should be close between you. I'l be there anyway so it would be nice to see you in action and hopefully Have a chat. As a coach who has already had a boxer representing young England I'm sure I could help you to bob and weave like a runner instead of a boxer.
Step in close and work to the body. One two.. one two.. Bang! Do you get the picture?
On that note I wish you a speedy recovery . Stay positive
Frogbmth - You've picked a fantastic event for your first marathon. Quite tough in places if you're not ready for it. Obviously with 20 miles over the purbecks already under your belt you'll be OK. Just stick to your training plan and watch out for the wildlife.
I've been off running since Oct. My last race was the Abingdon marathon. Two weeks after the race I crashed on my bike which put one leg out of sync. The pain has gone but now I am walking with a slight limp. I think I'm looking for the same solution as you.
I have a GP's ( who is also a runner) appointment tomorrow so hopefully he'll set me on the road to recovery.
.I understand your point RicF about over coming a mental block .
