Booktrunk Good luck weather looks like it should be good. You are spot on with your comments about the mental side and reasons to quit. TRAVIS who has now done something stupid like 18 x 100 has warned me that's why most stop. Only other comment and I have never done it is his other comment is "Beware the chair" so not sure about your half hour stop. Even if you went VERY slowly eating drinking you would cover a mile in that half hour?
Hello everyone else. Not posted for a while just been so busy and that's becoming a problem. My training has become a couple of marathons a month with a few short runs! Its just rubbish. Snowdon next Saturday and willen lake 3 days later. Both will be slow but fine with that. I think I just have to accept that this side of Christmas that's it and see what I can do in the new year. Not happy
BERTEddie I hope this helps. Sounds to me like you are a typical male runner. Go off to fast and then crash and burn (I am to) in a half you will get away with it but not a full. They say the half way point of the marathon is 20 for a reason. It took me 5 attempts to go under 4 witha ssimilar half time however your obsticle and mountains will help no doubt. When I followed a training plan I ran 3 times a week long tempo and sprints It is very easy to say but just enjoy the first one and see how you get on .
Ps Although I dont follow a marathon training plan anymore ad such the long run is the most important its just that my long runs are longer than yours
I wont give any advise on training as mine is a little different but would totally agree that 1.46 gives you a chance but weather etc will make a big difference. How did you feel at the end of the half? If I said go do it again but you can run it in 2.14 how would you feel?
Dave Hope you make the start and all goes well
Susan how is the leg
Howard Going very well keep it up
Me just doing a few 5-7 milers in the last week and the same again next. Then its Snowdon on the 24th
