Ollie your poor bike. Good that there's no lasting damage to the knee. Well done on the park run and odd advice from the marshall - it could have been your fun recovery run!! I'm aiming for Frankfurt marathon - initially i just wanted to run it easy and get back my GFA time for London but feels like I could get close to my 2014 time of 3:!5....if i can avoid injury.
Tek you did great at the 5k champs but I know how annoying it is to miss a target.
Stuart you must have been out early to get 10 done by 7:30!! Good luck with the club session - Thursdays looked pretty tough. Cross post - well done on the club session. Would be impossible to keep everyone happy!
Gaz well done - lots of miles and it was a quality session too!!
Nice intervals on the recovery week MG1.
Very consistent Sub17 - just tie the laces properly at the start to guarantee a quicker run next week!!
Rest day yesterday for me so did some core work and stretching (for once!) then this morning 14.4 miles, av pace was 8:00mm. A couple of miles were super slow as the gradient on the climb peaked at 27.2%. Felt like I was going backwards! Really enjoyed it once the hill was over.
Stuart sounds like your diary will be full!! Good training this week, 14 miles is longer than my long weekend run at the mo!!
Stewart sorry to hear about the injury - as NP says aqua jogging is great for injured runners. Simulates running better than anything else. Also looking at NP's post re oxygen; the hyperbaric chamber in Inverness takes injured runners!!
Tek hope the weather improve for your running, it must be tough. One benefit of being in the chilly North.
Ollie great target for Abingdon your angry running made me laugh! I know if I think about something that makes me cross when running I always end up running faster no geese with me but last night there was a pine marten that looked quite fierce!
NN only Frankfurt in the diary. Not many races up this way. I have entered Cairngorm Hill TT on the bike Nice tempo running!
Good luck for Fort Bill OH!
NP great to see you're off the bench Nice mix of training. I found aqua jogging so tough!
Hill reps for me yesterday morning - 20 times up a short hill. Went for a pedal at night with a couple of friends and my legs were so tired. This morning I decided to cycle up to Cairngorm ski car park - just from Aviemore so a short spin - but again the legs didn't want to play. An easy 45 minute run tonight. Rest day tomorrow
MG1 very well done, that sounds like an amazing experience.
Ollie that was a great MP run - do you think you will be aiming for that pace? When is your marathon and which one?
How is the plan going Stuart? I always end up juggling sessions around!!
MG7 hope the taper week is going well. Are you doing an event in Aviemore or is it a holiday?
Well done on the LSR Teknik. Do you take cash for water? I'm so lazy I hate carrying a bottle.
NN well done on the 10k - still a cracking time! Nice to have company on the long run.
A good mix of training OH.
Did an easy 45 minute run yesterday then at night a 90 minute turbo with tempo intervals. This morning a 30 minute recovery run and tonight 5 * 5 minute intervals off 1 minute recoveries on the treadmill (rainy out!!)
Stuart well done on the long speedy run. Also great park run and good to save the sub 19 for another PB!!
Ollie hope the early run went well.
Teknik 11.3 miles is a decent shift in the heat.
A new experience for me on Thursday - mountain biking! My friend (ex British MTB champ) loaned me one of her full sus carbon bikes. What a workout, I was exhausted!! Back to normal training after a rest day on Friday; a 12.5 mile run yesterday, my longest since Frankfurt 2014 then a 40 mile spin today (with coffee and cakes) followed by a 5.85 mile run.
Well done on the early miles Cal and have a great holiday!
Sub17 thats an interesting approach - is the low run mileage due to injury?
Ollie that sounds like a nice 15 miles.
Good luck with the race MG1.
Great that you got out HM4!
Stuart well done carrying on with the 11 in thunder!!
OH well done on the 21.
Dr D thats a tough shift doing the back to back miles.
Tek hope things cool down a bit for you.
Had a great cycle Monday night after a fartlek run. Legs complained a bit after two runs. Cycled up Cairngorm to the ski car park on Tuesday morning which was amazing then an easy short run in the afternoon. A treadmill run yesterday as I'm too chicken to go out in thunder then a turbo in the evening. Hill reps planned today and hopefully a pedal in the sun.
