NN saw the run on strava - fantastic result, well done!!
NP you ran your 20 the best way - love when you turn and it suddenly gets easier Was thinking about you yesterday - an icy morning and two fire engines going to attend an accident rolled off the road on ice just up from my house as I was heading out on the bike. A horrid thing to happen and two of the lads had to be cut free by their colleagues.
Stuart what a fantastic park run time, you are flying!
Lots of good intervals - Teknik, MG7.
OH great to get your first 200 done
Stewart sounds like you did the right thing rather than push it.
I did my first threshold interval session in over a year on Wednesday and was happy enough with sub 7mm for the 5 * 5 minutes - loads of room for improvement but its a start . Club run on the bike yesterday. Was put with the fast group and taking the town stop/start time out we averaged 19mph for 55 miles, absolutely hanging in there and by the end had to get a push on the back to get me to the front on one of the spells, could have done with that all the way round . Ran today, just an hour but did my first run with hills since summer 2014 so all in all a good weekend!
MG1 great monthly total, hope the throat clears up.
Teknik good to see the recovery going well.
NN not doing London, too expensive for just another run. Run training has not been great and I think you invest so much in marathon training (and i am so injury prone) I would only commit to another one if in PB shape.
Stewart well done, great run today and an amazing difference from up Daviot way - snow knee deep!
Stuart that's an amazing weekly total, great you got the 20 done today - no hangover then?
How did the race go NP?
OH well done getting out yesterday. I managed an hour at 8mm av pace in horrendous gales and horizontal snow. That was enough and my longest run in a few weeks. No ill effects but far too icy/snowy for the road bike today so ambitiously took the old bike (20 year old shopper) into the wood. Hilarious and fell off a few times but a good laugh and a fairly soft landing in the snow. Hope to get back to regular training tomorrow.
Great miles Stuart and good luck with the unplanned 3k. Paris Roubaix is 9th April. The pros do it the following day and add 100k!
Take care Teknik, I think I underestimated how good rest is when I'll.
More great training NP, are you still taking Buddy on all your runs? I don't suppose you would get out the door without him now.
Fantastic pace Mg1, especially in a gale!
Stewart I'm not surprised you're a bit creaky after the hard miles at the weekend.
Back to it with an hour on the turbo at 5:30am today - progressive- then a 30 minute easy treadmill run tonight.
Just had a quick read back but pea size brain cannot recall everything to comment on, suffice to say so much quality training and racing going on. Well done to all.
Been a bit unwell the last 2 weeks, never been off work so much in 29 years. Went on club (cycle) run yesterday and coughed for the full 55 miles so think that set me back a bit. Managed 5 miles today, first outdoor run in 2 weeks and hopefully will start to build again tomorrow. Decided not to do London As NP says only 13 weeks and that's just not enough time to build the miles and aim for a PB. Hopefully will do an autumn marathon. Have entered Paris Roubaix sportive as a consolation.
