Gaz great to tick off the 20 miler. Loops could be good for leaving a water bottle to collect.
Well done on the half sub17.
That's a long run Ollie, hope it's going well!
Tek shame about the heat but there's still plenty of time. I did one 20 before Frankfurt two years ago and got a PB. I used to do lots of them (10) but the different approach worked so same again this time.
HM4 well done on the 10k, sounds chaotic!
Stuart have you tried taping up the achilles? My ankle is really niggly and a lot worse today after the hills yesterday and some faster work on tarmac today so I have bought some tape. Used it for Frankfurt 2014 and it certainly helped. I've paid for everything too so will be there even if just spectating or back to plan A just to jog round!
Did 90 minutes today with 3 * 10 minutes threshold. Ended up 6:46, 6:48 & 6:39. Easy run and bike tomorrow or just bike and bike to let the ankle recover!!
Ok third time lucky - lost the first two posts, so annoying!
Lucky with the sizes Cal. I would do a park run + miles the week before a marathon but I guess depends on the recovery of each individual.
Tricia sounds ideal conditions for tomorrow.
OH nice mix of racing and training.
Good plan Teknik, sounds like much better conditions tomorrow.
HM4 sounds like this 10k will give you a good idea of pace for your PB attempt.
Gaz hope all goes well for your LSR tomorrow. Nice to be home.
Ollie nice park run mix today hope the new book is good.
Stuart I was aiming for GFA time for London which would be slower than my slowest marathon but now I'm thinking the usual target of sub 3:!5 or 7:26mm. Training a bit faster than that (7:15 - 7:26) as heart rate feels more like marathon pace a little bit faster.
Flipping dog that I'm looking after kept me awake all night with barking whining and door scraping so tired today but did a short pedal (just under 30 miles) and hill reps.
Well done for getting out in the heat again today Tek. I hope it cools down for your long run tomorrow, a bit of a daunting task in the heat.
Ollie hope the 15 went well - any celebrations 8.8 miles into the run?
Stuart hope that achilles settles down. Are you taking a couple of days rest from running?
Nice training MG1 - lots of quality.
Hope the yoga goes well Cal. Do you find it helps the running?
Got my turbo session done on Tuesday night, just an hour, then Wednesday did my long run. 2h15 with last 45 mins at MP. Happy that I hit the pace ok at the end. Did a dash to the car at mile 7 to get a glug of water since I was passing. Think it made a difference. Thursday was an easy 45 minutes and a couple of walks. Rest day today but dog sitting for the weekend so a couple more walks (hence the reason I rejigged the long run to mid week!)
Ollie great mileage last week and hope the general aerobic goes well.
Hope the achilles settles down Stuart. Great tempo yesterday and impressive gym session. I used to squat with 25kg which I thought was ok at half my bodyweight but looks pathetic compared to your stats - and Cals!
Nice MLR and swim yesterday NP. I've used to be OCD but now happy to stop any time!
Cal well done on getting out so early for your run. At least the weather is still ok for homeless guy.
Tek hope that its not too hot for you. Chilly here today - 16 degrees but a chilly East wind. Had my gloves and arm warmers on this morning but better than too hot.
Great that you got the trail run Gaz but not so great about the long hours in the office.
An easy 30 minutes for me early yesterday then later in the day cycled to the track to do my intervals. Felt tired and couldn't get much speed. Just over 5 miles this morning and plan to turbo later, too shivery to take the bike out.
Nice double day Tek. Good weekly mileage - must go add mine up....
Cal that made me smile - the homeless man has more manners than the so called "lady". Hope the various body parts all recover and behave.
Well done on the park run NP - nice speedy win! Ankle is still niggly but if I do a bit of stretching that seems to keep it under control. It is always worse after fast running - felt it more today.
Stuart hope the cold shifts and the achilles has settled down.
MG1 nice way to do the 15 with the park run in the middle.
Well done on the park run Sub17.
Gaz hope you got your trail run.
Ollie just been checking for lead piping in the study I'm with Cal on the magpies not being cumulative!
Did my second park run in two years on Saturday. A bit intimidated as a local running club attended en masse to test all their recent speed training. A bit of a breezy day but nice and warm and got 1st lady in 20:15. Did a 10 minutes recovery then 5k at marathon pace. With warm up did 11 miles. an easy 10 miles today. Lots of shed staining too over the weekend - that must count as cross training!! A lower mileage week for me this week - 46.3 miles and only 60 on the bike.
