Well done on the parkruns Sub17, Ollie and Cal. Ollie hope you're not coming down with something!
Stuart mixed news from the physio but great that you are feeling an improvement? Does the physio say no running til mid January?
Cycled to the sports centre today and yesterday for my run - means I get the cycle and the run done together but the legs were really tired today. Yesterdays run was a 6 minute threshold run followed by some hill reps then threshold to finish. Today was an easy run along the canal - 10.35 miles av pace 7:52mm. A tired cycle home. Only around 8 miles each way but on the heavy old mountain bike and with a rucksack makes it a bit tougher!
NP I find cold air a struggle too. Hope that your asthma doesn't play up too much. Nice quality training again and well done on the XC at the weekend.
Cal good that the ankle is ok!! Fingers crossed its still ok tomorrow. Nice to get new shoes
Gaz well done on the flat 6 - makes a change from the hills for you!
Ollie nice training as always. I hope it stayed dry. How long is your marathon build up? 20 weeks?
Stuart and OH well done on your XC. Stuart yours sounded horrid - I'm not keen on mud!
It's been a bit cold here over the last few days but have been running every day. Tried intervals on the grass on Monday but the pace was shocking the grass was totally white with frost and my legs felt like made of lead but I did them so happy enough... Turbo night with the cycle club last night (about 1hr 20) and an easy run then for todays threshold intervals I decided to stay in the garage! 5 * 5 mins with 1 minute recovery. Felt a bit better than on Monday!
Nice parkrun Cal and 2nd place. I always use miles, just habit. Inverness is the same as yours, 3 mile loops plus a bit. Think I will do a few parkruns in December.
Sub17 I would find it impossible to keep knocking time off every week, think I would aim to peak on certain dates and just use the others as training runs.
Gaz that sounds a bit scary!
Ollie I hope you had a good parkrun. Nice run yesterday with strides.
Stuart I hope the XC has gone well; you are certainly building the miles and speed again!
OH nice 8 miles with no niggles!
NP I hope the club handicap went well for you.
First run of the season on snow today. Such a sunny day it was lovely but the cold makes breathing a challenge and the legs felt like wood! 8 miles done at easy pace. Got my London acceptance confirmed yesterday - number 534 Happy days!!
