Just about made it to the start line with a last min decision to have a go. Started to get achey and already had a sore throat in the days before the race. Dropped out after 7 miles, legs felt completely wasted. Had fever & shivers by the afternoon.
Disappointed but not much I could do about it. Should probably have stayed in bed that morning. I also picked up my number on the Saturday evening and they had run out of t-shirts so had to make do with a 2009 Prague 10k one & had completely run out of start bags which was annoying.
Weather was the worst by far I have experienced over the last 5 years in a Prague May so all in all not a trip to remember.
For the last 4 years I've just turned up with the original email confirming my entry and start number. Just hand that to them at the Expo (they all fairly fluent english). Not bothered briniging a bank statement along but it's extra back up and they do aske you to bring it in the email.
Did London on Sunday, didn't go too well. Sore throat appeared on Friday and my legs just felt tired before I'd even got going. Hoping for a big improvement in Prague. Neolithic Marathon this Sunday.
Had a sore throat since Friday, not sure if it had an impact on my London run, just hope it clears up very soon. I agree that 26 miles on road seems to hurt the feet more. I prefer the break up of differing terrain. Flat road marathons just work the same muscles.
London marathon done but not a good run for myself. Hoping my body will realise it needs to keep working the full distance in time for this event. Looking forward to this, will be nice to be out in the countryside. Prefer off-roaders to roads no matter how hilly they are.
