Crooky, a few of us are in the same position - Blue Peter in the same boat, I've lost my hotel booking.
Worth calling your bank - I paid some on CC, some on Debit Card. They did say that visa debit has a lot of the same cover as credit cards nowadays, but I was to exhaust all other opportunities first. I'd say don't give up until you're sure you won't get money back. It's totally frustrating though
I've managed to book another hotel, and on the off chance I either do find out my original booking is okay (doubtful) i'll bin the new booking and just lose a wee bit. I'm hoping to get original money back though (fingers crossed)
