Have had terrible problems with achilles left then the right started. Tried everything physio, anti inflammatories, insoles, diamond back heel pads, rest (3 months!), stretching, icing, eccentric calf loading and they still remained sore for over a year, very annoying. A chap in the gym told me to start taking Glucosamine 1000mg + and there should be an improvement after three months. The good news is there was a vast improvement after six weeks. Did forty minutes (ok not far) jog the other day and they were fine. Obviously take more care now with stretching and warming up properly. Also, just to be on the safe side ice afterwards. My doctor say's taking this dose is fine as it seems to work for me and have also added in flax seed oil, vitamin A&E and selenium. To all of you with this nightmare of a problem, don't give up!
