probably not my brightest idea but on New Years Eve 2012 I undertook to run every day of 2013 to raise funds to buy a defibrillator for the village I live in. I am now 1/4 of the way through and obviously the weather has made it a tough 1/4 but even worse sciatic pain due to on overtight glute for which I am receiveing treatment is making it very difficult.Obviously I will continue and on the plus side I am never in pain running (just when I stop.....can,t bend sit or lie wthout pain) but I was just wondering if anyone out there has any tales to tell or advice they can impart?
Thanks.....not sure where we are staying...was booked by a friend as there a few of us going...only two running tho! Did my last 10 miler yesterday.( hip a bit sore today but otherwise all good)..just gentle run outs now until the big day......will let you know where we are when I speak to someone...hoping to make the expo on the friday late afternoon as not flying out til friday morning.
Hi, same problem but after two emails to them I finally had a response yesterday asking me to take the certificate to the expo along with the registration document stating it is incomplete and all will be sorted x
Thanks......will try, I not naturally patient but realise to push it too soon will possibly delay my eventual return to fitness. At the moment the foam roller and ice seems to be working....fingers crossed that and a few more days and I will be back out there ......gently gently as they say x
Help! I slipped in mud during a rather wet and windy 20 miler on dunstable downs 2 weeks ago..i felt a pulling in my achilles but managed to carry on without what I call pain. I rested for 4 days and then went for a gentle 4 miler which turned into a 3 miler with one mile hobble home. The pain seems to start as a pulling where the achilles and calf meet but it then travels to mid calf but inner calf where the calf/shin bone meet. There is a tender area there and a bulge which is just about visible and definately palpable. I am now icing it twice a day and using a foam roller which I can just about cope with although I know I am not doing it properly due to pain. I am fine wearing shoes with heels but flat footed is painful. Any ideas what I have done....I have had to cancel the Scottish swim this weekend due to this and have various races planned before the Nice to cannes marathon in november so really need to get it sorted asap......
