I read the pose book learnt all the different things in it and on the Dvd, I also brought some five fingers. I found the fivefinger shoes rubbed my little toes so much they were bleeding and I have tried them a few times, they feel fine and comfy and good to walk it but running just rubs too much. I even tried them with toe socks but still the same, eventualy they took my little toe nail off!! Bit extream! so I went back to normal asic nimbus trainers.
I found it was slower using the pose method and did not cure my injury problems, some of the things I lernt helped a lot like landing in the middle of my foot and under the centre of mass. People say my running looks quite relaxed, I think I have changed from a heal striker because of the result. But I think some of the things of pose have to come natural. When trying too hard I find it can make it not so natural.
I had fallen arches and platar facitis but now everything is a lot better without orthotics, my veiw is to land in the general centre of mass it really does help running and to keep a big stride. I run internationally so I think some things work. Don't know how other people feel?
Hi I've been running in using the pose method this week as well as for the last week and a half and started to get ankle pain on the inside of my foot, I ran wednesday a 13 mile run and couldn't run for two days due to a bad ankle and calves and then I felt okay yesterday and did a 10 and a half mile run but today my ankles are killing! They hurt when I walk down the stairs the most but generally just hurt when I walk. Just wondering if anyone has any idea if I'm doing something slightly wrong or my ankles are just strengthening up and I've done a bit much? Is it possible to pronate when doing the pose method as I have dropped arches as I mentioned a few weeks ago and if this could be causing the problem. I don't really want to get orthotics made unless I have to because I don't think they should be needed once I get the pose method perfected.
Also if I am doing track sprinting say 400 metres and above what is the correct way to use the pose method, should I have a forward lean of my whole body and still just pose fall and pull very fast?
I will try and get a video done sometime and post it thanks
No I'm talking about the pose clinics, I was thinking of going to one and I asked people what they thought a few days ago. Yes this forum is great you get the most advice here than anywhere, there are so many people that no what they are talking about and people trying to learn.
Hi I've just purchased some five fingers once they arrive I'll tell you what they are like. If you keep searching different sites on google you can get them form £35 from the US with free shipping if you change the dollars to pounds, but some sites you will have to wait till the 9th till they are shipped and they might not be the colour you want but depends how much you want them. I've ordered some white ones form the US that should be shipped quite quick cost about £45 so not too bad if I can use them like trainers.
I've read some forums and its ment to be quite good for POSE technique almost impossible to land on your heals, but take a bit of getting used to but not surprising! So I'll see when they get here!
The POSE book and dvd arrived today so I'm going to give them a look at before I consider paying all that money, because to be honest I don't really have that much money to just spend. Being a student I need money lots of other things like physio, running stuff, holiday and car! But I would consider it if I can't seem to get it from the book and dvd because I want to be able to run well and without injurys.
I keep having trouble with my ankle and achilles because my arches have dropped as I mentioned a while ago. My physio things I should see a sports podiatrist and possibly get orthotics, would I still be able to use these running in POSE? She knows about me learning POSE and thinks it sounds a good idea. I could always mention it to the podiatrist when I go just wondering what other people think?
