i competed in the high legh 10k race for the 4th time today. in its 5 year history it has built a loyal following of runners who love the slick organisation, snack bar and the cheshire countryside, but when the high speed rail link (HS2) is built the northern and manchester lines converge right through the middle of the race route. its unbelievable that this beautiful rural race will cross the rail link at least 6 times and thats after years of disruption. so whats the future for this little gem. maybe 10 years or 15 before its demise. anyone know of other races that will be affected. |

i really enjoyed it lily and we got lots of great banter from runners which is great. oh apart from one lady who by 13 miles was really tired and hurting and a comment from us went down like scaffolding in a storm. i would just like to say that many runners got stuck in the traffic jam outside the park before the start. this was beyond the organisers control. tatton park (council and N.T.) quite rightly main objective is that there is minimal impact to the park and its customers. they wanted all the runners in the park before the park was open to the public hence the 9.30 start. unfortunately due to the early start everyone seemed to turn up at the same time. hopefully the event will go ahead again next year where i'm sure the organisers and tatton authorities will come up with a soloution. |

hi all. i was one of the marshalls at the cattle grid near the start and finish. it was the other one who ran with you SEZZA and LILY OTV. never had such fun marshalling. hard work though with cars, runners and pedestrians all using the same cattle grid. thanks for everyones patience in getting you through. |

wantefc..i didnt run hellrunner yesterday but i watch every year and chat to runners afterwards. many runners were saying that this year they made it too extreme. a second bog of doom was included and it was too deep and too long. this left runners feeling really cold for the bog of doom at the end and so the enjoyment was taken away. you defo made the right decision not to run. i'm sure the organisers will take runners comments on board for next year. hell in the middle is not as extreme so dont worry and continue to look forward to it and enjoy. |
