Glad the booking error was sorted for Lotte, doubt we will hear much from her as she continues the journey to sunny climates.
CM - it is always nerve wracking travelling with kids and of course the time change will make all kids vile for at least a week (or a year in Archies case) Enjoy your break and dont try to cram too much in otherwise you wont have time to relax!
MR - hope the kilomathon went well despite your shananighans!
Hardly slept last night fretting about the weather and having to get up early for the triathlon. Hubby adjusted his clock but then it automatically updated too so alarm went off at 5am instead of 6. Hubby then found a flat on his bike so had to change tyres etc before we left. Racked bike and was in the pool for my 8:15 wave start with 3 other close friends in the same wave as me. Tried to roll with my stroke and took time to concentrate on technique instead of my normal thrashing about and was delighted to exit the water hot on their heels. Made the decision to just add a jacket and gloves as the weather was so foul that there was no point struggling into tights or socks which would have just got wet. Passed 2 friends within a mile and then played cat and mouse with the 3rd for the whole bike leg. There were huge gusts of wind which literally swept you across the road and sometimes almost stopped forward motion completely. I just kept low and plugged away, fully expecting to be pulled off as the conditions were so dangerous. Anyhoo return to town was better and i flew out of transition feeling great, stuffing fruit pastilles into my mouth. The run is a 2 lap and so you can see where others are, i pulled away from friend and then just hammered it. Knew i was going well as we had passed 3 or 4 on the bike and now i was passing another 3 or 4 on the run. Tried to push it right to the finish as I had scooped an age cat last year and wondered if perhaps the field was small i could do so again.
Waited for hubby who had started later and he had suffered similar concerns with kit blown all over the transition area and was frozen (he doesnt have a posh aldi jacket like mine).
Was confused when they awarded 40-49 to another lady but then realised i had got 3rd overall....OMG i nearly cried!!! I guess the enforced rest this week with the cough worked as a proper taper!
Sorry for the long post, can you tell i am made up!?
Haha i kissed a fair few frogs before i lucked out! I jumped into and stomped out of 2 marriages because i was impulsive and It was only when i spent time alone and started living my own life that i found my soul mate. I had no expectations and no need to be with anyone so was able to truthfully say take it or leave it. Within a few weeks of meeting we had a 'confessional' which was good as after i never felt that i had to explain myself or worry that my skeletons were going to come tumbling out and i guess neither does he.
Just for the record he has a nice bum but If he doesnt train he is a skinny minny whose waist is smaller than mine And yes he does waste money- this week he bought cod loin, baby asparagus etc and it was blimmin lush!
Love 'starter husbands' - very important but do make sure you dont buy a house or have kids if possible.
PG - our primaries are closing as there are so few kids in the countryside. No issue getting into any school in fact they almost tout for business.
CM - enjoy your break and give CC a hug from us all.
Only one glass of wine but it has gone straight to my head and i feel pickled!
Nooooooo dont make me feel guilty about all the work he has done.... It really wasnt much. Just a new extention or 2. Honest. AND i have sacrificed my half ironman so he can enter a local sportif because i am so lovely. FACT!
