Simon C -- rather you than me! 17M doesn't even count as the weekly long run (if marathon training) for me. But the other 4 must average 22M, which is better... racing soon and tapering down then?
Yep - long runs aren't 100% perfect, but about acceptable just abouts I hope (for the sake of my quads..) Yeah, 10,000 track tomorrow then the next 3 weekends are Southern Vets, Eastern Vets then Southern road relays..in that order! a week to recover to Berlin!!
Can't possibly comment on everyone - but love the training and all the paces, heart rates etc..
Ummm. Well I think about 17 on Sunday should take me up to 105 ish miles for my 5 longest runs. Just been doing normal training after that. Old school marathon training (with less miles ). Well I am only looking for sub 2.45 after all
You can tell who takes marathon training more seriously than others!! Great stuff all.
Part of life - being beaten by talented kids - generally at a decent V40 level you can have some good races with national standard women WHO MUST BE BEATEN
Good to see KA have a decent run in the women's 10,000 in Beijing, must have been those few training sessions with us at Luton she did!! (friend of the stars etc etc...)
Getting there then SG, good going Iron and AG! Dachs - the 800-1100 curse strikes again, i'm always slightly slower at the bell than I want to be, even at Tonbridge where I was generally very pleased with the 4.08. I was still a second or two down at the bell. Horses for courses isn't it? I'm not really built for much over 10 miles tbh, can see the number of halves I do dwindling apart from a more interesting Sunday run, really enjoy track racing too.
Phil - still 60/40 yes for Saturday, weather does look perfect tbh, hoping for 32.30 if all goes well, we'll see. (SB has been in touch..)
Well RicF of course lets hope it's nothing, needs to be sorted out though, same to SG too. I've been v lucky with health and injuries over the last few years, especially with my continuing pathetic attempts to have more sleep!
Solid 800 Dean - yes nearly time for longer stuff again and your sickeningly fast longer races too. Not fair
Session at Luton yesterday was 8 x 800 on the grass. had that horrible drizzle so the grass was soaking and a bit slippy underfoot. Felt really hard breathing wise too, quite wet and muggy tbh. As usual started with a slow first at 2.31 and got the down to 2.26's for the last 3. Really hard work.
Toying with the 10,000m at the Herne Hill Open on Saturday, interested to see if the extra miles and the long runs will help on the track..hmmm...
