Hi All - Just thought i'd pop in and say hi - some good repping going on out there as per usual.
I think my body has finally had enough of my training/footie/drinking/lack of sleep antics and forced me to stop for a while! Well after running the Southerns with the remnants of a cold and then going to watch Bmth at Palace on the Tuesday (and having 4 hours sleep after) it wasn't much of a surprise tbh.
Annoyingly did a decent 10 x 1k session before footie over at Regents pk (2nd FEB), but at the end of last week started feeling really achy and then horrific over the weekend. Self diagnosed as Sinisitis - basically a cold with what feels like a non stop nagging hangover headache over the eyes/cheeks/forehead..plus the tell tale bright yellow snot (lovely).
Had Monday & Tuesday off work, feeling loads better now. But sensibly canning the Surrey league xc on sat and the Stamford 30k on Sunday - although I'm going up there to watch. Will watch the Chiltern league xc Saturday too.
It's a bugger, but better than being properly injured/ill and putting up with the serious stuff that some on here are dealing with.
14.7k apparently. Overheard the Serpies guy in the bogs saying they had gone round with a wheel.
Great report Dachs. Suprised I hung around for a bit? It was downhill and relatively mud free! In the mud I was toast again. Yeah hopefully Brum will be kinder! I did think I was fine, but realised I wasn't great, but still inside top 200 so obviously not THAT ill.
On the good side, the rye bread prior to racing seems to have sorted the guts out. Last 2 xc races and not even a twinge after. Can't believe it. Obviously not wheat intolerant as such, but cutting it out near races seems to do the trick.
