Good reps Ric.,had my racers on too this morning! Once again very fast Dachs, that ten k PB will go soon I think if you get a race in soon. Nice holiday runs Bus, bit like me down in Poole, hilly enough down here.
Dean, hope you feel ok soon
Did twenty short steep reps this morning, each lasting about forty five seconds each. Then did the family swimming trip and managed to find a nice empty lane so blasted some lengths. Really like swimming, I definitely think it will start to replace a running day when I get into proper old age. Sod cycling...too cold, wet and dangerous!
It's 'when' the races are held that's the give away. Invariably fast times on average courses are prior to marathons. The Flitwick 10k near us is like that, even flagged as a fast course when it blatantly isn't. But it's the week before London and there are some fast times.
So training tonight, 1k-2k-3k-2k-1k with one lap being a k and the bloody 50-100m slight hill on every k lap. So it was bloody hard. Times were 3.14-6.33-10.05-6.38-3.04. Quite happy with that after a couple of weeks off.
Hi All - Great racing there from Dachs, SG, Pete, Reg - hope I haven't missed anyone out. Dachs - that's shifting, I ran really well in 2013 and did 14.38, bizarrely 15.25 the year later (must have been long!)
Few reps Saturday morning at Bedford whilst the kid was at their 'Beagles' session. Basically 7 x 80 secs around the rugby pitch. Then 1 hour Sunday morning - all seems in working order. Good job as I've got a full house in November.
Mansfield England xc relays - Surrey league xc - London champs xc - Wolverton 5.
That lot should get me fitter. Off work the rest of the week after today so down to see the folks in Poole, then off to Middlesbrough away on Saturday. I just need to check the pub for any hidden steps
