This Triathlon lark is not just for the adults!!

In a brand new venue for the 2012 season the ever popular East Essex Kids Triathlon is back.

This time we're in the brand new Basildon Sporting Village and it's leafy surroundings of Gloucester Park.

Choose from 5 'age-graded' Triathlon races, for ages 8 to 16, consisting of a pool swim and park cycle / run.

There are prizes up for grabs for all the age groups and a race memento for all competitors.

This is a fully supervised BTF event hosted by East Essex Triathlon Club.

Full details can be found at www.east-essex-tri-club.co.uk

Following in the footsteps of Born2Tri, East Essex have taken over this hugely successful event and now bring it to you fresh for 2012. The race is a Sprint distance event consisting of a 400m swim, 10k bike and a 5k run. The swim section will follow the snake format with two 25m lengths in each lane, passing under the lane rope to the next lane then repeating across the 8 lane pool. The bike leg will be a challenging 3 lap course around Gloucester Park's infamous 'Helicopter Hill' with two short climbs and one steep climb each lap.* For the run there will be an out and back route to the lake in the eastern corner of Gloucester Park. After two laps of the lake competitors will return to Basildon Sporting Village for a full stadium finish' in front of the main stand in the athletics arena, to the cheers of waiting friends and family. There will be prizes up for grabs in the open and veteran age categories as well as a race memento for all competitors. Entries are open online @ Entry Central  NOW! (full details from the EETC website) We Look forward to seeing you there *Please be aware the bike course is only suitable for mountain or cyclo-cross bikes.
