Just in a bit of a rut. Did my my first Iron distance at the outlaw 2013 (inc. awesome pirate feed station!) and loved it. Did the 30 week plan so properly geared for it and really enjoyed the whole thing.
But since then I have done basically bugger all, struggled to get out the door for runs and rides and generally a bit down in the dumps. Anyone else had simliar issues? Any suggestions (other than HTFU!!) ?
Had planned on the half IM at wimbleball but by the time I had thought it would be a good idea entries had closed!
After talking to a much better triathlete he was talking about how useful formal heart rate/lactate testing was. Has anyone done it? Is it worth it for the less good amongst us (aiming for sub 12 now). Also where can you get it done? I am in the Salisbury area.
thank you all the pirates, especially the guy at the end of the feed station offering pints of Guinness!
I also wanted to say a massive thank you to the pirates, you were the people that many years ago convinced me that "normal" ( it's all relative) people could do ironmans. After lurking in here you sewed the seed that led to the outlaw. Without you lot I would be much richer, with healthier knees but less of a person.
It sounds daft but having an environment where you can ask mental questions like "what happens when you need a poo" really helped. Cheers everyone
