Peppermint oil (the proper stuff not essence) on a few cotton wool pads can get rid of mice. The persistent little buggers may come back and you may have to repeat the exercise for a while but I've found it work. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002RJF6YW/ref=pe_217191_31005151_dp_1

I know a few people who've had these cysts and all have been helped with medication and injections in the short term. The problem is the cysts can come back. It's worth trying the conservative management approach IMO. Btw, I'd also try and find a chiropractor with a special interest in neurology. They have a different approach to normal chiros.

Also, I don't believe the cysts are as uncommon as you may have read. Cysts themselves are quite common but they are very undereported.

Kat - Have you heard of Move Clinics in Chiswick? They offer  free running technique sessions every Saturday . http://www.moverunning.com/runningtechniquesessions.html  They're a great clinic.

ETA - No, I'm not on commission, related to them etc

Hey, I just thought, if I crash (by no means a rare event), will I bring down 20,000 others jammed up against me?

Just make sure you crash on DB corner.
