Not sure if I am allowed to post my url to my race report at the spooky sprint last year - this was possibly my worst ever race I was in so much pain and it taught me a lot - I am not embarraased about it as i am sure it happens to other people, we all have the same make up at the end of the day, - kind of sums up a rather race day disaster and must have happened to others x4 stops to go to the toilet....

This was a fantastic race loved every minute of it well recommended and everyone was so friendly, marshalls, cows, dogs etc. My only mistake (doh) was that I thought in my head it was 18 miles instead of 30km, (stupid!) and now understand why they had the loop at the start to let the fasties go ahead - great idea. Loved that they had jelly babies at the checkpoints too nice touch. Anyone know if / when results are out?

This was a brilliant event, so glad I did it - for anyone looking at a multi stage event the guys who organise this are really good, excellent value for money, no big marketing thing unlike some of the ultra's. Food and accom all included, and a fanstastic route - suited for all abilities, some took 10 hours some took 24 over 2 days. Camping was brilliant too. I've done a review though not sure I should be posting the url on here - google "isle of wight ultra 2012" - look for runmoor the review should explain everything about the event if anyone is thinking about doing it for 2013.

Hi for those who have done this before - is it trail shoes or road shoes? I ran Dukeries earlier this year and wish I had worn road shoes even though it was 90% trail due to hard ground - though given the rain in iow this weekend maybe trail shoes? Have a very limited bag as going down for the week w/o a car so less stuff the better for me.

Are people tapering now for the big event? Does anyone know the route - not familiar myself, have 2 days on island before the event so may go and have a nosy at some of the pathway. Just got the gpx file so need to go and study that quite thoroughly. Who's camping? Tried out the tent at the weekend - works well.
