Anthony, carry on doing what you have been gel-wise. I'm a 10m/m plodder and was pencilling in the same amount of gels as you are. Better to have the comfort of having more gels with you than not enough.

Adam, great to hear you've made it; take it easy, enjoy the day and here's to a complete recovery as soon as possible.

Thanks gramck24. I also found a review thread and the organisation took a walloping.  The route is also described as dull by many, which ain't something that can be said about Liverpool's event.  The support however was meant to have been superb, with one lady thanking someone for taking her into their home to warm up (torrential rain, wind and sleet). Decisions,decisions.
