I use honey as a cheap alternative to energy gels on longer runs: I mix it 2:1 parts water (easier to drink!) and put it in my small gel bottle. I find it gives me a psychological boost as well as more physical energy. I'm too tight to buy energy gels...

Abingdon Park is lovely, and central- fairly large, although you would have to do a fair few laps to get in 12m!

Gave up smoking and needed another sort of 'fix'. Also trying to cling onto the few strands of sanity I have remaining

I'm going out for a run today - although not on pavements as they're like an ice rink ; am gonna head for woodland in the hope that being more sheltered, the ground will be softer! I missed my run yesterday but have decided today that's just not acceptable - 3" of snow here and people are acting like it's armageddon!
