I am currenlty recovering from this injury. My physio diagnosed me right at the start - said it was all due to my tight hamstrings which is due to my weak core.

So treatment was to stop running for 10 days whislt doing 5 sets of 30second planks, 3 times a day. In addition to this, I also stretch my achillies twice a day my raising onto tiptoes etc.. 6 weeks in and I am gradullay bringing up om mileage - by leaving at least 24 hours between runs. So I cycle one day and run the next

I had to run around a puddle last night - that was my adventure T Rex

Currently coming back from achilles tendinopathy, so doing a lot of cycling  - only up to a 5 mile run at the moment.

And now for my estiamted time: 4.30 - I did SNOD 2 years ago in 4:27, so staying hopeful

snow forecast by me for the next few days - will stick with wearing my shorts, which will prepare me for SNOD....

Hi all,

been reading this thread for a while, thought I would say hello as I have now officially entered thsi for 2013.

Currently coming back from injury so only managing 5 miles, three times a weel. Plenty of time left yet....isnt there?

Stayed in the Travel Lodge on the A55 Bangor junction last time - its cheap but basic.
