Anyway, that 32.55km run I did just now was for laughs. 2h38, avgHR 85% (bit higher than I would like), but given I didn't run at all for 6 weeks leading up to Christmas, I seem to be getting back on it now.
TD - 'I seem to be getting back on it now.' I love it!
Weedy - 'Good luck to everyone getting their medical certificate signed today. Statistically speaking, Monday's the day when doctors are most likely to agree to requests from patients on account of them having spent all weekend playing golf and being in a good mood. Okay, I probably just made that up, but it sounds right.'
Yer Maj - I get freaked by just thinking about sub-4 Too much pressure for a first marathon
Orbutt - if you've tried and failed with the anti-fungal paint your GP might give you some systemic anti-fungals if that's what you want. I think that your immune system is meant to deal with it if you give it time.
BM - absolutely right. Orbutt - see the doc, he might give you some anti-fungals, but frankly, unless the nails are breaking or painful, I suspect he won't. It'll settle given time.
I can tell you where I haven't been RR, and that's running! Prior to last Friday I'd ran 6 times since Berlin and only 2 of those since October. Did 6k on Friday and 10k on Saturday and found them incredibly tough - had to stop 4 times in the 10k!
Hopefully I can slowly increase fitness and get round Paris ok and then go for my sub 3:15 somewhere (venue TBA) in the autumn.
And yes, I'm still grubby if not truly dirty.
DLR - what happened to the running dude? (Sorry been away…)
