B2B. I get horrendous pain in my hip from time to time. Trochanteric bursitis. It spreads pain through my hip, groin and feels like I've been kicked in the balls. Just as I start dealing with the pain my glutes will go into spasm, yanking on my hamstring. Not pleasant, so i'm feeling your pain lol.
Kevin. I used a pacer during the W100 for the last 25mile and one for the last 30 of the GUCR with mixed results. Both good friends with very different results. During Grand union my pacer was ace, I had real doubts about finishing until we met at mile 115. He made sure I ate and gave me a kick up the arse to get me to the end. However my W100 pacer was a bit weak with me and I lost a 4th place finish in the last 5 mile (although I'm not blaming him for my short comings). I really needed a good hard kick up the arse and didn't get it he was far too nice. If you are thinking of just getting round you won't need a pacer. It can get grim near the end but I'm sure you'll buddy up if need be. Sometimes though you just want to be on your own because just getting round can take an awful lot of concentration and chatting is the last thing on your mind.
