Hi everyone. Been reading this thread for a while and finding all the tips and course details very helpful, thanks! Me and a couple of buddies are travelling up from down South to run the marathon and very much looking forward to it. just starting my taper now and glad to have only one big long run ahead of me now!
Had a 1 hour sports massage on Tuesday and managed to take part in my club's mob match today which was a flat 10k. My legs didn't protest too much so I guess I'm back. Quite pleased that though I flet like s*** on the day I haven't suffered any significant injury.
Definitely not doing it next year. Although...........
Blimey! What a day. I finished in just over 4 hours with calf and hamstrings going in and out of spasm on the final run home from the steps. That actually took me longer than running 14 miles up to the summit of a 10,000 foot mountain in Switzerland 2 years ago! Well at the back of the pack but that's ok; I'm just relieved to have finished it. Thanks to all the organisers. Good job!
