Get well soon Micknphil, lets hear the motivation because I will need it for this, training poor with Asthma,so hope slow runners at the back will get me through the last lap. |
Hi everyone, some good advise by 15W,I like a pint and don't mind having a couple up to Thursday before the race,it keeps me normal. I pack a long sleeved cotton top in case it's a very cold day,it can get cold towards the end of the race if you are out there for 4 hrs or more like me. I usually race with a t-shirt and vest over the top,I have handed my t-shirt to a spectator at half way before and just finished in my vest. You can never tell with the weather it can change so quickly,so be prepared. I often used gels but now stick to jelly babies, which I use every three miles on a marathon,be careful with water you can drink too much if you guzzle at every station. The important thing is your pace, don't go off to fast, try and keep an even pace, and you will be passing those who will be walking from 20miles onwards, good luck with your running, happy days |
