Be interesting to do an analysis on the number getting through over time... only VLM can know for certain, but my guess is that they have been increasing a little as the ballot has got bigger and GFA has become an aspirational target for more people near the boundary (this is a good thing by the way).

Pittsy welcome to the thread - wow great times from such a short career running (quite jealous myself ). Seems like the fast boys have given you some good ideas already so I'll merely say good luck.

BBB if you are having to take extra breaks in your sessions, you are running them too hard! Go out easier and accept a slightly slower pace, I promise you will get more benefit that way.

I can happily run at 10 mins/mile by the way. You just need to develop your shuffle (or race walk )

Duck nice session, 54 400 pace for reps

Great summary of your training and possible improvements Phil. Are you doing an autumn marthon or just VLM next year?

Good to see Mr V and YD both talking about training again

Rest day yesterday, but walked about 6 miles instead

BBB even easier - I used (in fact still do because I run lots of miles and the easy pace always slows a little) 8:30-9:15 as my easy pace range when running that 5k time.

Nice stats I found downstairs a lot worse too so can understand getting the lift - the curve on those stairs isnt particularly easy either.

I'm off tomorrow and Thursday so was going to offer to pop over to your side of town and say hi if you were still off since we didnt get that celebratory beer on Sunday, but no worries. Havent had two days off in a row, except for the marathon weekend for a long time, not sure what to do with myself!

Ah CB seems like times have been a little difficult but I do love the way you have taken steps to remedy it already - you'll be back.

Awesome parkrun pb WJH bloody ell you're quick now (goes off dreaming of such times!).

Minni great running and pacing - well done. Are you dissappointed with the seconds at all or just delighted to be so close to the A goal?

You'll have no probs nabbing the 1:30 half now anyway I would imagine!

An easy run for me yesterday and another tonight - did 15 miles last week and looking at about 30 this. Feels about right to be back at half levels by now and then will see how legs are before thinking about cracking on.

Phil are you at work today or do you have the week off?
