T Rex- staying overnight after the race, so will be around the day before and the evening after Might want to add a couple of electrolyte tabs to your corpse reviver- table salt good for sodium, but need potassium as well....
mouser- I used to use iso drink and gels frequently for long runs. These days I just use water with SIS electrolyte tabs for long slow runs, but use iso and gels for marathon paced runs and for racing. I figure that by limiting the amount of fuel taken on during the LSRs, I am making my body more. Efficient at utilising fat for fuel. Today, for example, I ran 17m with the middle 13 at planned marathon pace, so fuelled and took a gel at 4,8 and 12 miles and drank just over 500ml of isotonic drink ( Tesco own brand- my fave)
on the subject of the run- very pleasing after a sluggish start had me worried that it was going to be hellish! Legs loosened up nicely and actually got quicker as the run progressed. 17m in 1.47.57 (6.21 av) Happy enough with that 7 weeks out from Abo!
Dreading this morning's 17m with the middle 13 at planned marathon pace, but turned out great, my legs seemed to ease up as it went on- and actually got easier and quicker! 17m in 1.47.57 (6.21 av) splits 7.12 7.10 6.15 6.15 6.11 6.11 6.11 6.13 6.09 6.12 6.09 6.09 6.09 6.07 6.01 6.43 6.38.
