Had a fall while running a few weeks ago and cracked/ bruised a rib or too - didn't bother with x-ray's etc - Doc said not a lot of point as there isn't much to do but wait. This is about the only injury that can stop you running and swimming. As a result the cycling got a good shot!!
Am back running, but just starting back at the swimming but not sure if ready yet for the water!!.
I did manage a 5/20/3 k duathlon on Saturday and survived ok.
Training generally getting better overall though.
A few mentions for St Patrick's Day yesterday I see - Don't like it myself. The best St Patrick's day's I had were when I lived outside Ireland. Here, though its all very plastic, put on and used as an excuse to get pissed up!! Streets on Paddy's night become a no go zone in some parts - dodge the puke and broken bottles and trip over a body sort of thing!! - Oh did I say I work for the tourist board.
Now don't get me wrong - Other days aren't like this - its a great place most of the time - come and enjoy - just not on St Patrick's Day - you'd have a better time in any big City in the World in the right venue!
A quick jump in to say that I'm still alive, busy busy though!!
3 hr turbo D&D
Don - Nice day out.
Did another 3.5/20/3.5 k duo last week - same course as January. over a minute faster so happy with that.
Next out on 15 March for a 5/20/5. This race was supposed to be today but was postponed for two weeks. This leaves me with races 3 weeks in a row. Something will have to go I think?
LMH - whats next on your radar - anything before VLM?.
Anyone (other than LMH) doing London??
Off to a football game tonight with a suspect enough crowd for leading me down the road to drinking too much - I only get out the odd time! - & long run planned for tomorrow!?!?!? FFS (that abreviation doesn't need much working out!!
