In my experience (and opinion as P.E. teacher) you can DEFINITELY do too much, especially in terms of playing lots of matches and not training / conditioning / recovering enough.
Personally, doing too much athletics (all - javelin, sprints, TJ, etc) put too much stress on my body as a growing 13-15 year old. I`m probably still paying for it tbh!
Ditto my brother. Played football to a high standard, sometimes 3 games at a weekend and this never allows you to develop properly.
Oh, and btw, we watch quite a bit of women`s football. I take my girls to see most of Sheffield FC Ladies` matches at Dronfield and, knowing you`re local, give it a go PS!
for sale still! my last pair.
Last week a pair went for £43 Hope someone can enjoy them.
I`m a user of Adidas Kanadia. They`re pretty good value imho
Have fun. Slightly OT but me and my mate do a beer blog and get a fair few hits from all over the world : - http://twobeergeeks.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/crafty-sheffield.html
Can`t help with the transport but I`m thinking of doing this one. Was hoping to do Chesterfield mara but scuppered by injury. The HM there is £35 so Ashbourne sounds good!
