Just checking in. Fast moving thread!
I'm into week three of the 17/55-70. It's a step up from my last plan but I'm trying to keep the slower paces slow to keep me energised during the week for the mileage. So far so good but I'll consistently examine my progress.
The MLRs are building up. 11 today. 13 in the morning.
Managed to get my 16 miler in on my birthday this weekend. One of those - everything's right runs. Best gift I could've given myself.
Good luck, all. Have we got a run of good weather coming yet or what?
Useful stuff re: the GA pacing. For the first time I'm gonna try running them as slow as suggested so good to hear that's on the right track AND that other people find it difficult to remain slow(er).
Well my elbow swelled right up last night, I was a bit worried but iced it for ages and by morning it looked relatively normal. Did 8 GA as I was running a bit late and other than a bit of post-fall stiffness, felt ok.
Thankfully the fall was more embarrassing than anything else. I did see my running future flash before my eyes as I tumbled though
I'm still in. Working my way through my first week of 18/70. My goal is to do the paces properly - slowing right down for GA, Recovery and Long runs because I think that's where I've messed up in the past. It's a pride thing...
However, I fell off my bike today, properly over the handlebars and now have an egg sized lump on my elbow! Morning 9 miler might be a struggle.
After lurking on the spring thread, siphoning off the motivation for my own marathon in Manchester, I guess I'm in (this thread) for real. Signed up for Nottingham and I'll be starting my training this week, 55/70. I've used 18/55 twice and run 3:47 both times. However, after each marathon I've slacked off serious training. An autumn marathon will hopefully keep my honest.
