Have you tried Brooks Cadence? They encourage a mid foot strike and have support for overpronators.

Hello, I have Brooks ASR 8s which are good for muddy paths. They fit like the Adrenaline GTS but with a much studier sole and more weatherproof. I think ASR 9 has just come out so that means the 8s should be cheaper now...

I'm in! I booked my flights just now, flying with Lufthansa. Now looking at accommodation options, all seems quite pricey if you're not staying in a hostel! I am really excited about doing this, but at the moment I'm thinking how quickly all the costs add up! Oh well, once in a lifetime and all that!

Hello,

Yes, I'm doing this too. I got an email through on Friday with some info, if you've not got yours yet it might have gone to your junk folder? I've copied and pasted the information that you're after below:

We are changing the way we distribute chips this year with the entire collection being at Victoria Park in the main room under the stand. We will place in a secure envelope for your collection your Winning Time Chip, Cable ties to tie onto your shoe lace, bib number and safety pins.

You will not need to bring anything with you to collect your envelope as we will simply organize the collection in alphabetical surname order. Simply look for the initial of your surname and head for that table to pick up your envelope from the staff who are there to help you.

– you have a choice of day and time to collect:

1)    either under the main stand in Victoria Park on Saturday 8th September between 10.00am and 5.00pm or

2)    from the same location at Victoria Park on Race Day between 7.30am and 8.45am.

If you are local to Warrington we would suggest a trip down to the park to pick up your pack on Saturday. If you are from outside of Warrington there will be plenty of time to collect on the morning of the race.

(NOTE YOU ONLY NEED TO FILL IN THE EMERGENCY DETAIL ON THE REVERSE OF YOUR RACE NUMBER IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION)

Getting There

Please note that roads along the half marathon route from Knutsford Road, out to Appleton Thorn/Stretton and back will be closed from 8.00am – 8.30am. All roads used by the half marathon route will be completely closed to traffic.

Race Designated Car Parks

There will be general parking for competitors in Victoria Park Car Park on the day of the race.  , Please only try and park here if you do not have to rush away after you finish as egress from this car park will be delayed until about 12pm. Cars will be allowed to park here on a first come first served basis and our Stewards on the day will manage this accordingly.

There are parking spaces available on race day in the Environmental Agency Office car park, located on Wash Lane (WA4 1HT). Places will also be on a first come, first served basis.

Permission has been granted for Knutsford Road to be available for parking, again, only on the race day. This is a single line dual carriageway but you will not be ticketed on race day and is probably the best parking option.  Alternatively there are several car parks in the centre of Warrington, a short walk away from Victoria Park.

See the Warrington Borough Council website for more information.

Drop-off Points

If you are dropping off a runner for the race start please make use of an area close to Knutsford Road for this purpose. Knutsford Road will be closed to road traffic from 8.00am – 8.30am on race day morning making this unsuitable for dropping off runners so drop off early.
