I get the feeling that he already knows what bike he's going to get... !
Going slow shouldn't be a problem - I'm inherently lazy and hate exercise. I'm hoping that by following the beginner's guide and having the other half 'encouraging' me that I'll reach the stage where I start to enjoy the run and look forward to the next one.
I have just started running and am aiming to do a 10k in under an hour. At the moment I can manage about 4minutes of running before collapsing in a little heap. Why aim for under an hour? Well, my super-fit, ironman husband has set me a challenge - if I do under an hour he'll buy me an eternity ring. If I do over an hour he spends the money on a new tri-bike....
There's no specific time limit and I'm taking training very slowly. What races do people recommend for a complete newbie? Any advice or encouragement welcome!
I've just started week one having not done any running before. My husband is a marathon-runner/ironman/freak so I have plenty of encouragement and help but it's so good to hear about other people who are starting from scratch like me!
