ABsolutely loved it - though my legs are not thanking me today. Great event, lovely smiley marshals and great support. So glad we recced it to death beforehand, it really helped to know what was coming next.

I am delighted to have completed my first marathon. Big thanks Phil to you and everyone else who made the event possible.

I'm swinging between realy excited and downright terrified at the moment - I'm even dreaming about the marathon!! Wish it was Sunday already.

As for the trail v road shoe debate - there are one or two bits that will be muddy, depends on how much rain we actually get. Up to the Mast usually drains pretty well, it's the section after the Roman Road and the bridle path out to White Coppice which could be interesting.

I'm going with trail shoes  but not my Inov8 Orocs - they're great but just too heavy.

Good luck to everyone running & see you at the start .

Managed to get around the Anglezarke Amble on Saturday so feeling a bit (only a teeny bit mind) more confident about the real thing. The going was really tough on Saturday - very heavy and boggy - and muddy too. Loved the cake stops though especially the jam butties and Christmas cake.

Great idea about the BHM signal - every time I see someone up Rivi I am wondering if they are a fellow loony. Hope everyone's training is going well
