Today I swum over one mile in the coached session, it was a tough one, coach got us to do "a short Hungarian" which turns out to be 25m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 75m breaststroke, 100m front crawl, then continuing back down the way you came, so 75m breast, 50m back and 25m fly to finish. I did not cheat and pop in some front crawl to keep up with the others which is my usual behaviour.
I have also today entered the cycle club's friendly TT race on 10th September, so now I can train and wibble about a 10 mile ride.
What have I let myself in for and can the lazy and non competitive me come back please.
Becks, I have very short hair and still wear a hat. Boots sun, sea and swim shampoo and body wash stuff is great at removing chlorine smell, if long hair , tie it up under the hat and also use conditioner after each swim. I used to have waist length blonde locks in my early twenties so now the hassle.
Mr Steady has a new MTB, so yesterday which is usually a rest day became an after work, pootle around the local common. Much fun but hard work.
I have not done much of anything this week, apart from gardening, but tonight enjoyed watching the eye candy of the Olympic divers and gymnasts.
BecksF, a wetsuit does help if you need to stop, just bob about, don't worry as a kayak is bound to appear within seconds and the person will ask if you are OK. It happened to me in the Serpentine and more recently at Thorpe.
