I have cycled in the sogginess of rain and drizzle, at least the roads were quiet. 32 miles in total, bit short but did not want to go out with the faster ones doing a hilly 30 miles and still have to cycle home.
When I started the coach said if I could manage 20 lengths with a little stop each end that would be OK, I could do a little bit more than that but not much more. Now 4 years later still in the slow lane but one of the fast ones for fc. I cannot do the leg kick for breaststroke without damaging my back so use the dolphin kick from butterfly, it means I am really slow and sometimes cheat and catch up the others by doing a bit of fc.
When I started it was a case of do what I could in the time that the others did the full set of whatever we were told, so I would do only 2 lengths to their 4 and be lapped. Also the drills I sometimes only did 1 lap not 2 of each drill. I am lucky as they are a very patient group and when someone improves enough in all strokes you are moved up a lane to spread the numbers out evenly.
Mrs D, I lost a pound in the week but it snuck back on by today.
I went to the masters swim session this morning, lane was quiet with peeps off on holiday so only 3 of us to share. Lots of fc work and enjoyed but made me tired.
Skipped the bike ride as the swim left me feeling a bit off balance and tinnitus has come back, so I decided that I would go for a long walk instead of a long run. 5.25 miles and 90 minutes later I finished, although it did mean that I had to get the train back home as I had gone on an out and back route but only did the out ( the route was selected as it gave the option for bus or train home). Stretching and housework is now on the to do list.
I seem to have survived my run yesterday even though I failed to stretch until very late last night. Been up in London today, so only just escaped from the office. Tonight is supposed to be cycling but I need to go to the
supermarket for the weekly shopping so tomorrow looks much more likely.
