I just did my 5th Marathon in 6 weeks and started it with a minor hamstring strain/tear, I took it slow for the first 5 miles and it went away, it didn't have any effect during the race but I felt it towards the end, I had another marathon arranged for this sunday but I've since put that one back. It's manageable if you're not aiming to go flat out, but I guess taking it easy on a first outing won't be easy, good luck with it |

Sounds like you have a Morton's toe problem, where the Greek style foot has the longer second toe, it can be cured with bigger shoes but can also be eliminated by modifying your insole. I have this and have run with it for years, lost countless nails and been in agony at times. Orthotics would cost me a fortune and may cause other issues so I steer clear but a very small modification will prevent it, it costs nothing and is easy to do. Ive just completed my 22nd Marathon and am now over this problem. |
