I am reading a great book at the moment - Fast After 50 by Joe Friel .
He refers to periodisation of training for events into blocks of weeks.
Has anyone tried this approach and if so how did you structure it ?
I has not heard of this approach until recently and am keen to try it
Just seen this thread - apologies for being 13 years late .
Anyway I am aged 50 with a desire to get faster .
I am currently reading Fast After Fifty by Joe Friel. It is a great read with a lot of scientific research quoted regarding the ageing athlete .
The main theme is that Intensity is the key to improving our vo2 max once we reach a certain age.
Its well worth buying this one .
I ran London last weekend and still being on a high am thinking of running the Palma de Mallorca marathon in October this year.
Has anyone run this one ?
Any info would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Has anyone done this one ?
Thinking of entering in 2016 - but have a couple of questions - is there a cut off time and what are the arrangements on the route for water / nutrition ?
Also what are the temperatures like in Cape Town in April
Thanks in advance runners
