You're probably right about my pace. My recent times are 5k 22m, 10k sub 48m, Hm 1h 51. yesterday's run was 52m for 10k. Having been running at Half Marathon pace in training found the 10k pace yesterday hard going particularly in the conditions. I was hoping to hear from anyone else than ran yesterday to see how they found it as well. Here's hoping for sub 4 hours at MK.
Not sure if anyone who ran at Rother Valley today will read this but the headwind there today was something else. Decided to use it as a short training run for the Milton Keynes marathon in a few weeks. This got me thinking about how much the wind can impact on your time ? Has anybody done any analysis on this ? I ran the Southport 10k earlier in the year and found this to be windy as well but at least the headwind and tailwind evened out a bit. At RV you were either running into a 30-40 mph headwind or it was completely still on the far side...not sure I'd run this again. Also in my 20 mile training run last weekend I carried a water bottle the whole way. Would this have slowed me down at all ?
Did you get any with zipped side pockets ? I need some with the same and would appreciate to know what you bought. I tried a pair of Sub 4 on in Up and Running yesterday only to find they only had 1 zipped side pocket - which also had a rear pocket which is what I'm looking for,
