The downside of Canix races is that they are all over the country and usually only 5k. (the major exception being the 1/2 marathon on the Neolithic trail). They are usually fairly pricey too, and expect you to have all the 'right' gear, which naturally they sell. The upside is they are well organised and have a good atmosphere. |

Hey GB, good to see your marathon is coming on. Thought about it yesterday as I was standing on the A37 marshalling the Wessex Ridgeway as usual. Its about time your club put a team in and tried to stop the Doddlers sweeping the board again. Chris |

I did it the same time as Kittencat. Effortwise I'd say it is as tough as the Grizzly. No bogs or stuff but more climb. I did dehydrate on the run, if I ever do it again I'll use a Camelback. There are a couple of navigational issues, but keep the sea on your right and you will get there in the end. Still at Seaton there are several excellent fish and chip shops and you can have a pint or two in the Hook and Parrot. |

DC3. Oh yes there are hills! Climb just after the start, then a big climb onto Sailsbury plain at about 10, then undulating to the finish. Just start easy. The great thing is to be constantly passing walkers who are doing the same route. I may do the Canix half marathon with my owner. |
